For Benchgrafts, you need to choose between M7 or
M111 rootstock (we have limited amounts of seedling
rootstocks also) Click to
help you decide.
Availability:
Benchgrafts: Orders will ship February 30th through March 30th. We usually group orders so it's easier on the county
inspector and ship on a Thursday so you can receive them Friday to plant
Saturday.

We've come to the realization that we're not very good at supplying
scionwood. Since we focus on testing, a lot of varieties our
trees are small and do not produce a lot of usable wood. We have
to use what we have to fill our tree orders and end up running out of
a lot of varieties on some scionwood orders.
Because
of this we recommend you order from the good people at Maple Valley
Orchards www.maplevalleyorchards.com
who have given us excellent service on our scionwood orders.
You can order any of these any time, but the orders will ship per the
schedule above. If you miss this year's deadline, your order will
ship the next year.
Minimum Quantity: Benchgrafts: 10
trees, and you can mix the varieties. Click here to see why we
instituted this policy.
Order early to assure you your first choice of rootstocks and
apple variety. Once we run out, that's it until next year!
We ship mostly to the underserved area of Southern California. For
out-of-state orders, we have to include a Certificate of Inspection that
we are are charged $65 for. Sometimes we can split this between
several out-of-state orders, but if not you may be charged for the whole
thing. Some states may also require a Phytosanitary Certificate
($45), the cost of which we cannot split.
For those east of the Mississippi, we
recommend our friends at
Big
Horse Creek Farm in North Carolina
or
Century Farm Orchards, also in North Carolina.
For the Northwest,
Trees of
Antiquity in Northern California can help you out. For
you poor folks up in the far North, Fedco
Seeds
carries cold-tolerant varieties that survive the frigid winters.
Note: Utmost care is taken to
make sure the variety you receive is properly identified and labeled. Should it
fruit out and prove to be a different variety, we will be happy to
either refund your money or ship a different variety, either in
budwood/scionwood or benchgraft, depending on the season.
However, you may decide that you
really like the variety that was mislabeled anyway, in which case we
will do what we can to help you to identify the variety.
Nursery stock is a live product
that is sometimes fickle or dependent on weather. Should
we run out of a certain variety or just not have success
with it that year, we'll ask if you want to substitute another
variety or cancel your order.
Our rootstocks used for
benchgrafts are Oregon certified virus-free.
We love to see brag photos and
hope you'll email us some from your garden. Send them to
